Janet Claridge obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto in 1986, following a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Windsor University. She is an Accredit Family Mediator through Ontario Association of Family Mediators. Janet has received additional training in the areas of: mediation, family law, domestic violence, and parenting coordination/ arbitration. She is a founding member of Family Consultants Ottawa.
Janet has a private practice in Ottawa working with families coping with separation and divorce issues. She offers family mediation, parenting plan assessments, parenting coordination, and parent-child reunification. In addition, Janet is a clinical investigator with the Office of the Children’s Lawyer. Previously Janet has worked as a children’s therapist with children in foster care, a family therapist through EAP, a mediator in the Criminal Courts, and she has worked extensively in the area of child welfare.
Janet is the president of the Ontario Association of Family Mediators, Ottawa Chapter. She is actively involved with the Ottawa High Conflict Forum on different committees. Recently, she was a member of the Community Services Advisory Committee with the City of Ottawa.
