Janet Claridge

Janet Claridge obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto in 1986, following a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Windsor University.  Janet has received additional training including: mediation, understanding family law, and parenting coordination/ arbitration.  She is a founding member of Family Consultants Ottawa.

Janet has a private practice in Ottawa working with families coping with separation and divorce issues.  She offers family mediation, parenting plan assessments, and parenting co-ordination.  In addition, Janet is a children’s therapist for children in foster care, and a clinical investigator with the Office of the Children’s Lawyer.  Previously Janet has worked as a therapist through EAP, as a mediator in the Criminal Courts, and in the area of child welfare.

Janet is actively involved with the Ottawa High Conflict Forum as secretary and chair of professional development.  She is also a member of the Community Services Advisory Committee with the City of Ottawa.

Valerie Morinville

Valerie Morinville has a Bachelor of Arts (psychology) and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Manitoba and a Masters of Social Work from Carleton University. 

Valerie has a private practice in Ottawa with a focus on assisting families through the separation process.  This work includes consultation for couples who are considering separation or who have separated but find themselves in conflict, as well as the completion of parenting plans and parenting plan assessments (also known as custody and access evaluations).

Valerie has worked with the military and their families in a variety of roles for over 20 years and has extensive knowledge of the military family experience.  She is a founding member of Family Consultants Ottawa.  Valerie is an active member of Collaborative Family Law Ottawa as a relationship specialist. 

Valerie provides services in both English and French.

Victoria Hasbani

Victoria Hasbani has been working with children and families for over 20 years. She obtained her Bachelor of Social Work and Masters of Social Work from McGill University in 1997 and 2003 respectively. She holds previous degrees from the University of Ottawa. She also completed a Certificate in Family Mediation at York University. 

Victoria has extensive child welfare experience having worked in the field for over a decade and has been employed as a Clinical Social Worker with the Family Court Clinic. Since 2011, she has been working as a School Social Worker providing counselling to children, youth and families. Victoria is active on the Office of the Children’s Lawyer Clinical Panel and provides private practice services to pre- and post-separating families and their children.

Victoria is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers; the Canadian Association of Social Workers; and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
